After tanning in a tanning bed does taking a shower reduce your tan?

I just went indoor tanning about an hour ago.
I use a bronzing lotion. If i shower in a half hour will my tan fade/wash away?

I don’t know if this is a dumb question , sorry lol.

yes it does! lol u should wait about 30 min and if u have one of those scrunchie luffa things that scrubs your skin that can make it fad and not stay as long and also harsh soaps can reduce it
becuz ur tan is only in the first 3 lawyers of your skin so i would recomend delicate soap and dont scrub ur skin hard
and there is an after tanning lotion to lock in your tan
    hope i helped =]

um… no because a tan is your skin pigments getting darker… ON THE INSIDE!!

before tanning make sure and exfoliate. If you do after tanning you can lose some of your tan.

i think its about the same as getting a tan on the beach, so no, i dont think it will wash away, but maybe you should just wait an hour to be sure

I would wait a few hours for the bronzing lotion to soak in, but its not like showering is gonna take off your tan. If you don’t use a lotion it doesn’t matter when you shower. hope I helped!

It won’t fade, but just don’t use a body scrub because it’ll scrape away the newly tanned skin cells. As a rule I try to wait a couple of hours after tanning to shower just to be on the safe side, but I don’t think it’ll be a problem.

no it doesn’t. it would only wash away if you got a spray tan.

Yeah you’re cooking yourself. Water can’t wash that off.

    no.
a tanning bed is just like the sun, a spray tan is different.
that would be like you coming back from the beach and not wanting to take a shower because you dont want to lose your tan lol.

if you use any bronzing lotion, some of it always comes off in the shower
i remember i used to use that on my legs and i went swimming in the lake and weeks after building up my tan it all got washed away… i was pisssssssssed

not dumb, you are worried the lotion will be washed off and thus reduce the ‘tan’. the tan will in fact be skin reaction to the light source and simply magnified somewhat by the lotion.
since the light source has now gone ( outside tanning booth) it will have no more effect. so answer = No .

When u shower, u exfoliate the dead skin cells, which does cause fading. Just like when u shave ur legs, it removes dead skin cells. But ur tan won’t fade away, it takes a while for that. Just keep ur skin moisturized and u should be fine :)
