today is the first time i use a tanning lotion, Neutrogena Build-a-Tan. so i wash up really well with a body soap that exfoliates..
but im wondering is it necessary to do that every time before you apply tanning lotion?
because im planning on applying it everyday before bed..
do i have to exfoliate or just use normal soap to wash up from now on?

I love having that summer tan all year long but the thought of going to a tanning bed makes me sick knowing how bad it is for you. I have tried a few types of self tanning lotions will little success. Either they have a bad smell or they leave streaks or they just don’t work. Does anyone know a good brand out there that I could try?

I am fairly pail skinned but do tan pretty good. I am planning on going to the tanning bed with a friend of mine but don't want to get the bad rays… I was wondering if wearing sunscreen like spf 4 or 8 with a tanning agent would work to get me a tan and to keep me a little safer than if I werent wearing anything?

I burn very easily, and it normally only takes about two hours in the sun with high SPF for me to fry. If I use a tanning bed for about five minutes, how much time in the sun would that be equal to?
By the way, I have to tan — I'm going to the Caribbean on a cruise over the summer, and if I don't add a bit of color, I will probably die there; or at least be forced to stay in my room the entire time.
I don't need a lecture, people. I know it's dangerous. Please, just answer the question. That's all I'm here for.

I know this is mostly a matter of opinion, but to you give you a more detailed description of what sort of advise I'm asking for I'll tell you what my situation is. I'm a guy. My skin complexion is very white and pasty, and sort of resembles expired pizza dough with acne. So, in order to upgrade my sexual appeal, I've decided that I would look better with a little more color this year. It is now the end of January and I'm debating on when to start indoor tanning. I'm afraid that if I start now it will be too early and I'm trying not to make it look too obvious that I'm going tanning. But I would also like to start as early as possible. So I guess what I'm asking the most is when is the earliest time of the year that I can start having an artificial tan and still be tasteful and stylish?

I am very pale, but I have had a good tan a lot of times before so it is possible! It just takes me forever to get there. Do you think using sunscreen or sunblock would work? Which one would I use? After I got a base tan then I would change to tanning lotion of course.

I've worked at two different tanning salons and whenever I fill out an application for another job and it asks what my position was I'm never quite sure what to put…
Tanning Salon Girl? (JK)
Tanning Consultant? (Hardly)
General Employee?
"Fry Cook" - that one seriously gave me a laughing attack… thanks - I needed that.
If I tanned in a tanning bed with sunscreen or sunblock, would that help me get tan?

I am very pale, but I have had a good tan a lot of times before so it is possible! It just takes me forever to get there. Do you think using sunscreen or sunblock would work? Which one would I use? After I got a base tan then I would change to tanning lotion of course.

I burn very easily, and it normally only takes about two hours in the sun with high SPF for me to fry. If I use a tanning bed for about five minutes, how much time in the sun would that be equal to?
By the way, I have to tan — I'm going to the Caribbean on a cruise over the summer, and if I don't add a bit of color, I will probably die there; or at least be forced to stay in my room the entire time.
I don't need a lecture, people. I know it's dangerous. Please, just answer the question. That's all I'm here for.

I know this is mostly a matter of opinion, but to you give you a more detailed description of what sort of advise I'm asking for I'll tell you what my situation is. I'm a guy. My skin complexion is very white and pasty, and sort of resembles expired pizza dough with acne. So, in order to upgrade my sexual appeal, I've decided that I would look better with a little more color this year. It is now the end of January and I'm debating on when to start indoor tanning. I'm afraid that if I start now it will be too early and I'm trying not to make it look too obvious that I'm going tanning. But I would also like to start as early as possible. So I guess what I'm asking the most is when is the earliest time of the year that I can start having an artificial tan and still be tasteful and stylish?
